How to Play Shadow Cat

Guide the mysterious Shadow Cat through an endless moonlit forest. Your adventure has no fixed finish line. Keep running forward, jump across platforms, collect glowing coins and avoid the shadow creatures that appear along the way. The longer you survive and the farther you travel, the more challenging the adventure becomes.

Starting the Adventure

When you first open Shadow Cat, you will see the game's start screen with the moonlit forest, the Shadow Cat character and the START THE GAME button. When you are ready, press START THE GAME. The game immediately begins and the forest starts generating new sections as you move forward.

On browsers that support fullscreen and screen-orientation features, the game requests fullscreen mode and attempts to rotate the device into landscape orientation. If your browser does not allow automatic rotation, you can manually turn your phone sideways and continue playing.

Desktop Controls

Desktop players can control Shadow Cat with the keyboard. Press the Left Arrow or A key to move left. Press the Right Arrow or D key to move right. Press the Up Arrow, W or Space key to jump. Combining movement with jumping is important because coins and floating platforms can appear at different heights.

Mobile Controls

Mobile players can use the three on-screen controls displayed inside the game. The left button moves Shadow Cat toward the left, the right button moves the character toward the right and the upward button makes Shadow Cat jump. Endless Forest

Collect Coins

Glowing coins appear throughout the forest. Move Shadow Cat close to a coin to collect it. Every collected coin increases the counter displayed in the HUD. Coins can appear on the ground or above platforms, encouraging you to use carefully timed jumps.

Watch the Shadow Enemies

Shadow creatures can appear as you travel through the forest. Pay attention to their position and use your jump to move over them when there is enough space. As you travel farther, the adventure gradually becomes more challenging, so staying focused is important.

Use the Platforms

Floating platforms appear throughout the endless forest. They provide additional routes and places where coins can be found. Watch the position of the next platform before jumping and try to land safely.

Lives and Game Over

Shadow Cat begins every run with three lives. The life counter is displayed at the top of the game screen. Contact with enemies or falling outside the playable area can cost a life.

When all three lives are gone, the Game Over screen appears. Your collected coins and best result are displayed. You can select PLAY AGAIN to begin a new endless run or HOME to return to GameWithFun.

Improve Your Score

The main challenge of the endless version is improving your personal best. Try to travel farther while collecting coins and avoiding unnecessary mistakes. A successful run can continue for a long time, allowing you to challenge yourself again and again.

Your best coin score is stored locally in your browser. This means you can restart the game and try to beat your previous score.

Pause the Game

If you need a break, use the pause button at the top of the game. Pausing stops active gameplay updates while keeping your current run available. Press the button again when you are ready to continue.

Sound Effects

Fullscreen and Landscape Mode
